BPL's Creating Comics with Blake Hoena on Wednesday, February 8th

Join us for Creating Comics with Blake Hoena on Wednesday, February 8th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. In Hoena’s workshop, teens ages 10-18, will take characters of their own creation and develop a funny, bizarre or scary situation to place them into. Participants will be creating a short comic while learning the important elements of creating comics. Darcy Dwyer, Brainerd Public Library’s Youth Librarian, said, “Kids love reading comics and this workshop is a great way to guide young authors on how to make their own comics. So please take advantage of this free workshop and give your kids a creative gift that will last a lifetime.”
Blake A. Hoena is a Minnesota author who has written more than thirty books for children, including retellings of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the Perseus and Medusa myth. Most recently, he’s working on a Tony Hawk 900 Revolution series.
