I recently read an article "Drowning doesn't look like drowning" in the Star Tribune. The article had some excellent information about drowning and what signs to recognize, along with tips to save yourself or someone else from a drowning incident.
Often times, the Sheriff's Office receives calls about questions regarding what services are available in the time of personal crisis or when things are just not going well and you may need someone to talk to.
In conjunction with April being National Volunteer Month, I would like to use this column to recognize the many volunteers that are associated in many different capacities with the Cass County Sheriff's Office.
We received a question regarding roundabouts and how to properly navigate them. Although we currently don't have any roundabouts in Cass County they are being utilized in neighboring counties and if you travel to metro areas you will encounter them.

The month of November is Winter Weather Awareness Month and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety established Nov. 5-9 as Winter Hazard Awareness Week to help Minnesotans minimize the risks and hazards of winter.
