Cass County schedules meeting changes

WALKER - Cass County commissioners have changed their meeting schedule
through the end of 2012.
The board moved the Nov. 20 meeting to 9 a.m. Nov.
BACKUS - Cass County is looking for volunteers to serve on county committees and commissions. Openings and application forms are posted on the website at www.co.cass.mn.us.
Applications must be submitted by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
BACKUS - Cass County Assistant Highway Engineer Kris Lyytinen reported to the county board Tuesday that the county last week received its FEMA check for storm damage the county sustained to county roads in a June heavy rain event.
BACKUS - Tim Richardson, central services director, obtained Cass County Board approval Tuesday to purchase new hardware and software to replace the county's 1997 Enhance 911 emergency service reporting system.
BACKUS - Cass County home sales numbers and new construction permits issued are up, while foreclosures are declining in 2012 compared with 2011, according to environmental services (ESD) and assessing department reports released Tuesday.
WALKER - Minnesota State Auditor's Office has issued an unqualified opinion after auditing Cass County's 2001 financial records. This is the highest level of opinion regarding Cass financial procedures that can be given.
