FEDERAL DAM - Cass County will offer six one-day household hazardous waste collection sites this summer. They include:
June 17 - 1 to 4 p.m. at county highway garage in Walker.
June 25 - 1 to 4 p.m. at East Gull Lake Town Hall.
July 22 - noon to 4 p.
FEDERAL DAM - Jeri Seegmiller, health services team leader, and Lori Muller, social services team leader, reported Tuesday to Cass County commissioners on the success they've had switching to a joint intake system.
FEDERAL DAM - Cass County Board Tuesday approved preliminary work on a continuity of operations plan for the county.
Cass County Emergency Services Director Kerry Swenson told the board he expects to complete the plan by Jan. 1, 2014.
WALKER - Cass County will offer 18 non-conservation land parcels for sale at a 9 a.m. June 29 auction at the courthouse in Walker.
One commercial city lot in Pine River will see the appraised price lowered from $8,500 to $6,000.
WALKER - Two-thirds of Cass County's employee retirement program is under the direction of Congress and the Minnesota Legislature. The county controls only a retirement insurance program available to some employees.
The county employs about 260 people.
BACKUS - Auditor-Treasurer Sharon Anderson and Commissioners Bob Kangas and Neal Gaalswyk will form a committee to develop a proposal for Cass County Board to consider as a plan to clean County Ditch 9.
