Questions revolving around the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) in Brainerd may soon be answered since the Crow Wing County Board is expected to make a decision on its future on Dec. 11.
The future of the LEC has been in limbo for years.
Brainerd Police are searching for a person suspected of stealing a 2-month-old ferret from PetNorth Saturday in west Brainerd.
The ferret, worth $180, is brown and has three small dots tattooed in one ear.
Pequot Lakes Superintendent Rick Linnell is handing in his resignation after being with the school district since 2006.
The Pequot Lakes School Board will vote Thursday on whether to accept his resignation letter.
■ Gazelka takes slight lead
Rep. Paul Gazelka, R-Baxter, held a slight lead around midnight Tuesday for the newly formed Senate District 9 race. With 53 of 126 precincts in, Gazelka had 10,708 votes or 51.33 percent.
If it was up to the students who voted Tuesday in the Kids Voting Brainerd Area, President Barack Obama would stay in office.
Nancy Cross, coordinator of the Kids Voting Brainerd Area, said 4,000 ballots were printed with a 35 percent voter turn out.
