I'm definitely a summer person and it's finally been a great one in the beautiful Brainerd lakes area. My husband and I often talk about because we live and work here - it seems everyone is on vacation except us.
"We've been coming to the lake every summer since I was a little girl. There are several families now, we love all staying at the same resort, taking in all the attractions at the lake and we want Dad to continue to be a part of it.
"I know I should know this, but I just don't know where to turn" - a comment that surprised me from a friend. It seemed she had done all the research necessary. It seemed she was involved in places that would have information for her.
So I want to talk a little about Parkinson's disease - a topic that I don't address much. It's a little too close. My mom has Parkinson's disease. There, that was therapy. They call it PD - oh it seems to be so much more than that.
She's absolutely my inspiration! I hope you all read the article on the front page of the Brainerd Dispatch on Feb. 7. The article recapped the life experiences so far of Dorothy Janes, now a century old.
