A fire ripped through Cross-Tech Manufacturing in Crosslake Minn. March 6, 2014. Firefighters were alerted by alarms in the plant. The fire was quickly through the roof on the plant's older section. Firefighters were able to shut a fire door and save a recent building addition. The roof on the older section collapsed. About 40 to 50 firefighters from six lakes area fire departments helped battle the blaze. Smoke shrouded the area. Water sources included nearby natural water bodies. Crosslake Fire Chief Chip Lohmiller said about 30,000 gallons of water went into fighting the fire.
