I created this recipe on a bad weather day. My husband, Mic, and my daughter, Liz, ask for this soup constantly. Whenever I send it with my daughter for lunch at school, I always send some for her friend, too. It is pure comfort food.
During hay season, when I can't make cheese and butter fast enough to keep up with our Jersey cow, I make this pudding recipe my mother gave my. It can be prepared ahead, and allows me to have a cool, delicious dessert for the haying crew.
Since I'm from Wisconsin, I thought it was only logical to put together a vegetable and a cheese...two of the things this state produces in abundance. I come from a long line of farm families and love cooking a lot!
I discovered this quiche recipe many years ago, and it's still one of my favorites today. It's quick and easy, yet very tasty. It's also a good dish to take to potlucks or serve as an appetizer. You might like it for a brunch or light supper, too. —Hazel Turner, Houston, Texas
This dessert is an all-time favorite at our house. Since it freezes well, you can make it ahead of time and simply get it our shortly before you need it. I usually cut it into serving-size pieces before freezing to make it even quicker to serve!
These cookies are fun to make anytime of year. My family enjoys them because they're not as rich as many other sweets. The recipe can easily be doubled...I like to make one batch dipped in milk chocolate and another in white chocolate.
Admittedly, this crunchy, savory appetizer might skew toward the dudes. But trust us, everyone will go wild for this go-to on game day! My husband especially loves that it features all of his favorite foods: salted meats, salted nuts and hot sauce. —Gina Myhill-Jones, 100 Mile House, British Columbia
I got this recipe from a friends many years ago, and it quickly became my children's favorite. Now, my grandchildren enjoy it. It works especially nice for making cupcakes for school lunches. Besides cooking, I enjoy sewing and writing poetry.
